Hernia treatments we offer

Roughly 600,000 hernia repairs are performed in the US each year, making it one of the more common general surgical procedures performed. If you've been diagnosed with a hernia, surgery is likely in your future. The good news is that our doctors are highly trained to provide hernia treatments, performing more than 300 hernias every year and over 2000 surgeries performed using minimally invasive technology.

Our hernia doctors provides the following treatments:

  • Inguinal hernia surgery: An inguinal hernia occurs when tissue protrudes through a weak spot in the abdominal muscles. During this procedure, three small incisions are made for two working ports and a camera. The surgeon operates right next to the patient using a robot console.
  • Incisional hernia surgery: An incisional hernia occurs as a result of a complication from conventional open surgery. During this procedure, three small incisions are made to dissect all tissue or intestinal structures out of the hernia defect. Robotic technology allows your surgeon to be incredibly precise. The defect is then sewed closed and mesh material is sewed over the closure site to prevent recurrences.
  • Umbilical hernia surgery: An umbilical hernia occurs when part of the intestine or fatty tissue bulges through the muscle near the belly button. Robotic surgery allows your surgeon to sew upside down on the undersurface of the abdominal wall
  • Ventral hernia surgery: A ventral hernia results from a weakness in the midline of the abdominal wall. During this procedure, three small incisions are made to dissect all tissue from the hernia site. Mesh is then sewed over the hernia site to prevent recurrence.

Symptoms of a hernia may include swelling, bulging, tenderness or pain in your abdomen, stomach, or groin. Some hernias can get worse over time, but surgery can help make a difference for many patients. If you are living with pain from a hernia and have been thinking about surgery, don't wait any longer. Our hernia doctors are ready to help.
