The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), a leading gastrointestinal medical society, has recently granted a three-year recognition for quality and safety to Portneuf Medical Group Endoscopy Center. The ASGE Endoscopy Unit Recognition program honors endoscopy units that have demonstrated commitment to patient safety and quality by following program guidelines on quality assurance, endoscope reprocessing, CDC infection control guidelines and ensuring endoscopy staff competency.

To earn this recognition by ASGE, Portneuf’s Endoscopy Center went through an application process in which they attested to the competence of all staff relative to their roles; demonstrated the adoption of center policies specific to key quality indicators; and attested that the center has an established infrastructure and personnel dedicated to infection control and prevention.
