Portneuf Cancer Center welcomes new oncologist trained at the Huntsman Cancer Institute

The Portneuf Cancer Center is pleased to welcome Calvin Rock, MD. Dr. Rock is a radiation oncologist specializing in the treatment of cancer and benign diseases using advanced radiation therapies. He attended the University of Texas School of Medicine in San Antonio, TX and completed his residency at the University of Utah Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, UT.

“I chose radiation oncology as my specialty because it combines the latest technology with ground-breaking research to deliver the best possible care to cancer patients,” said Dr. Rock. “I am grateful for and humbled by the opportunity to help patients through one of the most challenging times of their lives.”

Dr. Rock is deeply committed to leveraging the latest advancements and innovative techniques to treat patients, which he attributes to his time training at the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

“That was an invaluable experience for me,” said Dr. Rock. “I benefited from world-class cancer care and a rigorous approach to treatment. I’m excited to bring that same level of attention to detail and quality of care to the residents of Southeast Idaho.”

Dr. Rock uses a variety of advanced treatments to manage all types of cancer and benign conditions using precision techniques to target tumors while minimizing damage to healthy tissues. Key services he offers include external beam radiation therapy (EBRT), intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), high-dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy and hydrogel spacers.
